My name is Nicole. I live in Melbourne, Australia. I am married and have a courageous 3 year old son who was born prematurely in 2006 (25.3 weeks, 672gm). He has something a little bit extra special, an extra chromosome, T21(Down syndrome).
Three Cups of Tea. Excellent. A mountaineer is resuced and taken into a Pakistani village wherer they care for him. He vows to return and build them a school. He then goes on to devote the rest of his life to building schools and developing communities in Pakistan and Afghanistan despite negitive attitudes towrads these people groups following terrorist acts.
My Sister's Keeper. Great read. Interested to see the film. Raises points for ethical debate. Thought prevoking.
White Tiger. An interesting look at how an entrepeneur moved his way from a sense of powerlessness where his life was given as a form of currency exchange as he entered a life of servitude in an Indian village then Delhi to the realisation that he is able to create change in his life. Interesting to follow his concience and the choices he made.
